Applied AI for Business is a workforce capability initiative led by Victoria University TAFE under the Victorian Government's Skills Solutions Partnerships (SSP) Program. Co-designed with industry, the program has been developed specifically to address the growing demand for practical AI capability across Victoria's SME sector.
Unlike traditional AI courses that focus primarily on awareness or technical concepts, this program is built around workplace implementation. Participants learn by solving real business challenges within their own organisations, enabling them to move beyond AI theory to confidently design, build, and implement practical AI solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Learn by Implementing Real AI Solutions
The program follows an Applied Learning Model, where every participant develops a workplace AI project throughout the program.
Rather than completing hypothetical case studies or simulations, participants identify a real business opportunity within their organisation and progressively design, build, test, and present an AI solution over eight weeks.
By integrating learning directly into day-to-day work, organisations begin real AI adoption during the program, not after it has finished.
Whether your objective is to automate repetitive tasks, improve customer engagement, enhance decision-making, optimise operations, strengthen sustainability reporting, or develop AI-enabled products and services, the program provides the structure, tools, and expert guidance needed to turn ideas into measurable outcomes.
A practical, workplace-based learning experience
The program combines six core learning modules with an industry-focused implementation stream, allowing participants to apply every concept directly to their workplace project.

Develop an understanding of data readiness, governance, privacy, quality, and organisational preparedness.

Design, implement, evaluate, and present a workplace AI solution that demonstrates measurable business impact.
